Serendipidy

In planning this trip three things have really worked out. I want to post this now and at the end we'll see if it is as easy to plan a trip to Europe as I now think.

• We bought Janet's ticket in September. When I decided to go in February, the second cheapest ticket was to fly to Dallas and join her on the same flight to Frankfurt. Who would have thought?
  
• Quickly we decided that we wanted to buy a Rail Pass. I dragged my feet as usual not knowing that there had to be enough time for the pass to make its way from Germany to Atlanta. Thanks to Rosa for saving me from my lackadaisical ways. The Rail Pass arrived on Thursday, three days before we travel.
• Last night booking someplace to stay in Munich finally made its way to the top of my list. I tried to reserve a Bed and Breakfast room but failed. This morning I stumbled on Wimdu. So we are staying in an apartment which is a ten minute walk from the train station. Booking it involved emailing with Markus who fortunately speaks English.
